Why Should I Be Saved?
Salvation is a free gift!
Religion, Confusion and the Point of Life
It has been estimated that there are over a thousand religions in the world today. Add to this the many cults and sects, and it is no wonder that people are so confused when it comes to religion. We all struggle at some time with the questions, "Is there a God?"; "What is the meaning of life?"; "Is there something more after death?"; "Can anyone ever really be sure?"
What the Bible states
It would be wrong to give the impression that we have the answers for all of life's complexity. However, the Bible, God's Word to humanity, deals with these and countless other questions. In fact, the Bible actually states that we can be sure of our eternal home. John, one of Jesus Christ's disciples, wrote, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, ...." (1 John 5:13)
Assurance and the value of eternal life
It is the most wonderful assurance in the world to realise that you will spend eternity in heaven. And this is what Jesus Christ offers you- this and much more. He said “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” And this assurance is held by thousands of Christians in this county and can be yours also.
The most valuable possession we can ever obtain is not a Mercedes Benz or a multi-million dollar home but Eternal life. This is the one possession that we need if we are truly to enjoy this life and the one to come. And the good news is - it’s ABSOLUTELY FREE. You might think that anything that is worthwhile costs something. And you'd be correct. This incredible gift of salvation that God offers cost Jesus Christ a humiliating and agonising death. He was crucified about 1,960 years ago in Jerusalem, bearing the sin of the whole world and shedding His precious blood to take our sins away. Jesus Christ gave His life's blood to offer this gift to you.
It is YOUR choice
The price has been paid and this incredible gift is available BUT the choice is up to you. You must realise that it is impossible for you to get to heaven on your own merit because of sin. The Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) and, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8)
You may ignore this gift and go on seeking for things to bring you pleasure and contentment but you will find that nothing will ever really satisfy. And even if you manage to obtain an expensive car and a luxurious home, in the final analysis, when you stand before God, it will mean nothing and the ONE thing that would have meant everything will be the gift you rejected. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Mark 8:36)
You may decide that you want to know more about this matter. You may have doubts; you may want to know more about who Jesus Christ is, what His miracles were or if He really is God. If you do, please contact us and we will be delighted to speak with you or send you more information.
Or, you may realise that this gift is absolutely necessary and therefore we would plead with you to admit that you are a sinner and that you need Jesus Christ and then receive the wonderful gift of salvation which is so freely offered to you. If you so desire you can make this decision right now. Just take these simple steps.
Steps to salvation
1. Confess (admit) to God that you are a sinner.
"saying, God be merciful to me a sinner." (Luke 18:13)
2. Repent - change your mind about your sinful ways against God; desire to turn to God.
"... now [God] commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30)
3. Believe (Trust) in the fact that Jesus Christ died as your substitute and rose again from the dead to prove His authority over sin and death.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." - Jesus Christ (John 6:47)
4. Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12)
"Dear God, be merciful to me, a sinner. I am sorry for all my sins, and want to turn from my wicked ways. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that he is risen from the dead. I now take Him as my Lord and Saviour and trust Him to save me. I ask for eternal life that He paid for with His own blood. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
If you have prayed this to the Lord with all sincerity, please tell us the good news and we would like to help guide you with your new life in Christ!
